Welcome to Michele's Bakery and Sweet Shoppe

Hello, some of you may have known me through Desert Rose Cafe and Sweet Shoppe.  I've worked with them for over 8 years as their lead baker.  I started out just doing desserts and cakes for patrons to purchase while they enjoyed their meals at the Cafe.  I have worked in bakeries part time over the years and have been decorating cakes and making baked goods for over 35 years.  

My passion started as a child, baking with my grandma and my mom, making cakes for my kids and close family friends.  A lot of the recipes that I still use today are my mom's and grandma's.  As a wife, mother, and grandmother, I know the joy and warmth a fresh baked pie, cake or cookies will bring to any occasion, and I enjoy bringing that feeling to others.  Over the years, I have taken many specialty classes, such as blown sugar, fondant, and edible paper.  This gives our customers a variety of decorating styles to choose from.

We do everything from pies, cookies, birthday cakes, showers, and wedding cakes.  We make sugar free, gluten free, dairy free and egg free cakes and desserts as well.  We do offer catering with specific needs for special events.   Have a special family recipe or need a specialty cake/dessert, let us know.
